But, before anyone starts writing a review, there are certain factors which must be considered. We are going to focus on Product Reviews in this article. Unlike other reviews, where you will not find any personal view or opinion of the writer, as he/she is not supposed to do this, the writer of the Product Review will certainly do so. This is very essential for him/her to do, as this would give the reader a balanced and structured review. Therefore, giving his/her personal views is the foremost important thing in Product Reviews.
There are a few questions, which must be considered by any writer before writing a Product Review:
• Who is the Targeted Consumer?
• What does the Product Promise?
• How well does it achieve those Goals?
• Is it a good Value?
Rules of Writing a Product Review:
Test/Use the Product Yourself – In order to review something, the writer must have used or sampled the product him/herself, so that he/she is familiar with the product and its properties; only then the writer will be able to write a review with all the correct information.
Highlight the Properties, Advantages, and Disadvantages of the Product – After using, or testing the product him/herself, the writer must write about all the properties of the product. The pros and cons must also be discussed very openly in the review, as this would help in creating a somewhat accurate picture of the product, which the reader has not used yet and is willing to, or will decide after reading the review, whether to buy the product or not.
Give a Conclusion in the End of the Review – Once the writer is done mentioning all the properties and pros and cons of the product, he/she must give a conclusion in the end of the article. The conclusion will suggest whether the product comprise of all the factors the reader is looking for in that product or not. The suitability of the product in various conditions and circumstances will also be told, while all the dangers and hazards (if any) would also be pointed out. In short, the conclusion would suggest whether the product fulfills the customer/reader’s requirements, and if it is worth buying or not. The review writer is acting as a guide for the reader, thus, he/she must write an unbiased and structured review, so that a relationship of trust with the reader is built, if the writer wants to succeed in this field of writing. |
